What's so bad about Lucky Star?

I was looking at the Shin Chan topic while thinking of more topic ideas, and since Shin Chan is one step lower than Lucky Star...It must be bad right? Riiiiight? Shiro hates it, but he hates everything so there's no way I could take that as an adequate judgment.

He hates it because it's popular and because it's cute and because it's getting a dub and will soon go mega mainstream.

I know it resembles Haruhi Suzumiya. Don't get all personal about it Shiro, I'm just messing around. Besides, I was pointing out why you didn't like it. It's the same reason you don't like Death Note and Naruto (as far as the mainstream thing goes, obviously neither of these series were meant to be a comedy show).

Isn't this by the creator of Haruhi Suzumiya? That anime was wildly popular and decent yet this one is just...fail? Correct me if I made a mistake but I would've thought it was at least decent at best. Do note that I have not watched it and that every comment made in here is making me not want to see it...

But you're right. Hahuri wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. Like you said, decent is a good word for The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi.
I tried Lucky Star and made it two episodes before my writhing brain threatened me with self implosion if I didn't stop. The opening song had some neat spots (Not the lyrics. Those sucked. Just the tone in places like where the stars were falling), but that was about it.

It's just by the same animation studio (Kyoto Animation). I think Bandai has been promoting it as "FROM THE CREATORS OF THE MELANCHOLY OF HARUHI SUZUMIYA!!!" It's kind of misleading.

I'm not referring to it being mainstream, I mean what I saw in it was substance, something of a congenial entity. I just liked it. And I don't think DBZ is the best thing in the world, I actually prefer DB over DBZ in some areas. I despise GT.

I wasn't trying to say that being popular makes a product good. I was trying to say that what a product is liked for is what counts, example would be fan service verus plot and characters.
