Has anyone else watched this yet? I just watched it yesterday. The difference between the animation of the series and the movies is stunning...

Also, Ramiel looked awesome.

Started watching it, then ended up getting called away and simply forgot to continue watching it =/

From what I saw, looks decent. Though the real one i'm waiting for is the fourth, completely new, one.

Hell, even the next movie looks like it will be substantially different from the TV series. Kaworu was shown at the end of the first movie, yet he was only in two (?) episodes of the anime, so that's a big change right there.

Also, has anyone read the manga? I'm downloading some of it right now, I heard it's got quite a few changes itself.

I've never seen Evangelion(my frend recommended it though- never got round to doing it).

Is it worth me watching the movie, then? If it's a rehash of the series I haven't seen...

Watch the anime first. The movies are going to take forever to finish, so you'll be left hanging for a while (the first movie only covers the first six episodes, I think).

The movies do cut out a lot of the bullshit, but I'm sure important things will have to be cut, too. For instance, entire battles with the Angels (the enemies) are being cut.

It's GunBuster's 20th anniversary in October this year, if I don't see some special shit like this going down, I'm gonna be PISSED.

Chibi: The manga is good. There are a few changes, people introduced earlier, different fights, shinji less annoying. Taking forever to continue with volume production, but slowly appearing.

Eragon: You'd be better off checking out the series before getting into the movies as there are some differences and they do skip some things.

Shiro: No bashing allowed.

And if you have never watched NGE, I suggest you should watch the anime, then rewatch it, but replace the last two episodes with the movie End of Evangelion.

I've also heard that watching NGE when drunk/high shows new dimensions of the show.

I loves me some Eva. I watched 1.0 the other night (high). I would've enjoyed it more if it didn't contain things I'd already seen, but having another alternate ending as a 4th movie and switching things up (like Ramiel) makes it forgivable.

Now that I've seen Evangelion 1.0... well, the very thing that springs to my mind first is that it made Gendo look even more sadistic and cold. Using everyone as pawns in a game of chess.

Some skipping was forgivable, and the remade graphics made it actually enjoyable, but I can't deny it was boring. Essentially, just a recap. Could've been more entertaining, as easy as that is to say...

And now for years of waiting for the next movie.
