Hey, I liked it. Those first few episodes (aside from the first Evangelion fight with Sachiel) were always my least favorite. Condensing them and removing a lot of the bullshit made it more enjoyable for me.

Yeah, the product placement was sort of annoying, but what can you do? 2008 is very different than 1995, product placement is everywhere, even in video games. If product placement is going to give Gainax a bigger budget for the movies, then I'm all for it. Besides, would you RAAAAAAAAGE if someone went to the store and picked up a bag of Doritos in a live action TV show? I'd rather see Doritos or Lays than a geneic brand called CHIPS or something.

Part two will be better. Prepare for the start of the mind fuck...

...And you disliked the Rei fan service? You're watching the wrong series, then. (Besides, there wasn't any added fan service that wasn't present in the series, was there?)

I think its funny how people rooted for rei/shinji in the beginning they're yay they will end up together. I admit I was one of them but then when I saw she was a clone I was like "uhhh check please."

The movie owned, but I wish they improved the Shamsel fight, that is virtually a clone of the original. Even the new Sachiel fight is more different. And as for this whole mindfuck thing, urgh, my head is spinning!

And the Shamshel fight... well, I can't really think there was much that could be changed in it. Sachiel fight being vastly different - well, let's just say that Anno did drugs and drunk himself to sleep, designed the Sachiel fight, was hungover badly and couldn't give a fuck about the Shamshel fight.
