Also; when Buu released that steam that you disregarded, Goku, Gohan, and Krillin stated that his power increased incredibly, and Gohan even talked about it being way more then he thought. So, when he got angry, his power was stated to increase. It's stated fact, period.

Maybe you haven't noticed that the same Vegeta spoke of possibility of him splitting again, and Goku agreed that there is a possibility.

The first two times Gohan got enraged, his power is stated to increase. So if we go by your logic, every time Gohan gets angry his power increases. Did anyone state that his power increased when he released steams when Wraith Buu is released.
