Default Re: Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone

I'M IN MAH THREAD, NECROPOSTING AWAY

Anyway, this is so weird. I've been seeing a new theory popping up on /a/
lately regarding this movie.

Basically, for a few legitimate reasons, people are starting to think this is a sequel to The End of Evangelion. Yeah, The End of Evangelion. The theory is that there was some kind of universal reset that took place some time after the end of that movie, causing everyone to revert back to the time of the first episode of the TV series (yet the world remains in the state it was in at the end of The End of Evangelion).

I have no clue how, why or when this would have happened, but it'd be a pretty fucking awesome mindfuck if this is what happens. They have said that the ending of these movies is going to be different than the TV series/The End of Evangelion, and Shinji somehow regaining his memories of Third Impact and stopping it could sure be fuckwin.

The theory also states that Kaworu, and possibly SEELE by extension, remember the events before Third Impact. You'll see why:

First, the Third Angel Sachiel emerging from the (blue!) ocean in Neon Genesis Evangelion Episode 01: Angel Attack

Now, the same exact scene, from Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, with the emergence of the Fourth (!) Angel:

A blood-red ocean? The only time the ocean was like this was at the very end of The End of Evangelion...

Next, the moon, shown at the end of The End of Evangelion, with a blood-red stain on it:

And the moon scene with Kaworu at the end of Evangelion: 1.0:

Next, the aforementioned moon scene, with some lines from Kaworu. Stop looking at his naked body and read!

"The Third again"? "You never change"? He's had previous contact with Shinji? Not in the TV series, he hadn't. Kaworu is a remnant from the previous world...?

And here's the kicker. It's from the opening scene of Evangelion: 1.0, and it's a shot not present in the TV series episode 01, which Evangelion 1.0 is supposed to be copying:

Look at that shape. Doesn't that look a lot like one of the Evangelions from the Mass Production Eva Series, in the crucified position they take near the end of The End of Evangelion?

And remember how they fell back to Earth at the end of the movie, as this comparison picture shows?

-----

Yeah, pretty exciting. Although, it could just be Anno fucking with us like always, it's still an interesting theory. Here's a few more unrelated things:

Who- or what- got out of those other containers, besides Kaworu?

Is it just me, or does the "moon Lilith" look an awful lot like an Evangelion with a big white sheet over it? You can ever see that center piece the Evas have (whatever they call them) popping out on its chest. The preview for Evangelion: 2.0 did say, "Evangelion Unit-06 and its pilot come down from the moon." Kaworu is the pilot, and moon Lilith is Unit-06?

Finally, here's a delicious Rei poster for reading all of my ranting:

Someone get me a doctor. I like Eva waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much.
