About the eye-transplant. He would need someone to do it for him, Rin helped Kakashi for instance. And maybe he had a plan to retrieve a better body, as long as he could use the Sharingan it's fine.

your theory.... its flawed
Rin was a medical nin, kakashi didnt learn/copy any medical jutsu... madara probably has, i mean he is a highly skilled ninja plus he has fought in the war.... he should be able to transplant an eye....
if he finds a sharingan he could just replace it.
why would madara switch his body in the first place??
his body was TOO messed up after the shodai madara showdown?? that would make kishi repeat himself... and he better not
