I agree that Sandaime is a formidable opponent. If he'd been a few years younger he would've straight up murdered Orochimaru. All I was saying is that the difference inbetween Orochimaru's and Itachi's power was so great that Orochimaru didn't even consider attacking him. Orochimaru on his own might not even be quite as strong as Sandaime but he still didn't fear him as much. I doubt a mere difference in fighting style would cause such a difference.
