Literally: "I circled the Earth an unknown number of times (as in, "so much that I lost count), and then took a short nap." You can't get the number of times he circled the planet from that. "A couple dozen times" was simply an adapted line.

While I'm at it, light can circle the Earth eight times in a second, not one time in a second, according to your calculations.

I could care less what the "Original Japanese text" says. And how do I take YOUR word for it when I can read the manga done by professionals...? Gotenks said a couple dozen times and that would be at least 24. In one panel.

The speed of light IS 186,000 miles per second. Do the math dude, that would be 23 times in 23 seconds.
