Show me one instance where it was stated that Broly could suppress his power.

Not only is suppressing power completely against Broly's nature, but where would he learn that? This isn't self-taught, unless you watched someone else do it, so he had to learn it from someone. From whom, Paragus? He isn't going to listen to anyone else besides maybe him, but when did Paragus learn to suppress his chi? Paragus is not exactly a combat expert.

Now, some people could say that he learned it from observing another race using it. I highly doubt it, as Broly's only thought when he invaded other planets was probably "KILL! KILL! KILL!", and I doubt that he had the patience to watch the ability. Not only that, but even Broly fans will have to admit that Broly is stupider and not as much o a combat expert compared to Vegeta. So, while it may be easy to learn for Vegeta, it might not be as easy for Broly to learn.
