Actually, classifying "American English" as just that is foolish, we've got many different dialects. People from the north speak in an entirely different manner than those in the south. And there's differences all over America.

As for what Raven was saying, I completely agree, Spanish is the most useful language (Second to English) in the United States. Now if you lived next to Canada, maybe you could use French. (But it's not like we're being illegally invaded by Canadians at the rate we are from Mexico.)
