Note that the first nine (?) volumes are the VIZ versions, which are flipped and may or may not be toned down for kids (I only have the first three volumes in Japanese myself, but I didn't notice any changes). The character Green (Gary Oak) was changed to Blue in the VIZ version (because Pokemon Red and Green are Pokemon Red and Blue in America), and the female character Green is called Blue.
