Even if Shikamaru knows all of what Kakashi can he would still lose.
His speed is not match for Kakashi.
He knows that his Taijutsu kinda sucks, compared to Kakashis.
That alone is enough to win.
Once Kakashi gets a good hit or two off Shikamaru is done.
Since Shikamura has no good offesive jutsus to stop Kakashi, there is nothing he could do but stall him.
