@ Shikamaru vs. Kakuzu, Shikamaru having full knowledge of Kakuzu's techniques and preparation time: Shikamaru. I mean, fuck, Kakuzu is strong as hell, but Shikamaru knows absolutely everything he can dish out, and is given all the time in the world to create traps and the like. If you have both of those advantages, you're battle plans are going to be very flexible, as long as you're smart and account for every possible situation--which Shika would more than likely do. And if given the same circumstances as this fight, bam, Shikamaru just jumps out of a bush, and has already set up traps, knows exactly what Kakuzu can do, and has been given the time to create a counter-attack. To be honest, that's a serious fucking advantage.

@ Chiyo: Chiyo wasn't given preperation time or anything, thus your arguement is flawed.

@ But he knows about those things. And was given time to create counter-attacks. If you give Shikamaru (who stays four steps ahead of his opponents at all times, even the ones he's never met or seen before) knowledge of all of his opponents techniques and capabilities, anything and everything they can do (i.e. Kakashi's taijutsu, ninjutsu and genjutsu prowess), preparation time (so he could quite easily construct plans and traps accordingly) and the element of surprise, no matter who he's fighting, the odds are in his favor.

And Kakashi is smart, but not Shikamaru-smart. And experience means pretty much nothing. Kakuzu had a shit load of experience, having fought the freaking Shodai, yet he was offed by Naruto.
