Default Re: Who do you think is/was the best lyricist?

Picture paragraphs unloaded, wise words bein quoted
Peeped the weakness int he rap game and sewed it

Since I'm in a position to talk to these kids and they listen
I ain't no politician but I'll kick it with 'em a minute
Cause see they call me a menace; and if the shoe fits I'll wear it

I took some lines I like from both rappers and they are damn good for me, sure if you've only listened to all Eyez on Me, 2Pac won't fall in the best lyricists category.

I disagree when Narutofan says subject mather doesn't count. If the subject mather of Illmatic was just about money and girls, it wouldn't have been praised like that and Nas wouldn't have been called a lyrical genius. That's why his lyricism was blame on Nastradamus, the album was too shallow. If the subject mather is worthless, you can't be a good lyricist.
