I see what you're saying but I think you're forgetting the fact that SSJ3 Gotenks had Super Buu finished. By no stretch of the imagination does that make Super Buu stronger, by being on the brink of being destroyed. Now I will say this, Super Buu did say that to Gohan, but it was after Gohan already whooped his ass and made it apparent that he stood no chance. Of course the difference in strength wasn't that great between SSJ3 Gotenks and Super Buu, thats why I agreed with =>(equal/slightly greater then). I'm not trying to get into a big thing either. I think it's clear as day/evident but everyones gonna look at it they way they want..... usually within reason(remixremix) lol.
