Re: ATTN: Mystic_Gohan
To be honest, I wasn't impressed by Buakaw's performance, and I'm sure he wasn't either. He went back to his old style, predominantly using kicks, I expected him to use more punches and I'm not sure why he didn't, perhaps he injured his hand in training? It was a very very close fight but Buakaw just threw more shots and landed them cleanly enough. I thought Buakaw won all 3 rounds, but just barely. The extra round Kraus won, I'd say. K-1 judges are always known to be flip-floppy... they've even gone against Buakaw in the past, but this time they were on his side. Nevertheless, I'm still supporting Buakaw till the end.
Andy Souwer vs Mike Zambidis was a good match. Many people expected Zamby to KO Souwer, but it was vice versa. Souwer was doing good with the leg kicks, just by looking at their target, you could tell they were effective. Zamby just gave it his all, in the 3rd round, and was gassed in the end. He was less aggressive, and Souwer took it to his advantage, found an opening, and caught him with a left high kick on the temple. Masato also won his match against Kalakoda. He came out really strong in the first round, showing he's the more complete K-1 fighter, with a good mixture of punches and kicks. Kalakoda said in the pre-fight interviews that Masato would be crazy to try and outbox him and he wasn't worried about Masato's boxing ability. Masato is good against orthodox boxers, and this time was no exception, with a nice KO, and an impressive start in the tournament. Right now, I can see either Souwer or Masato taking it all, but I still have hope that Buakaw will pull through.
Other than UFC 83, some other fights I'm really anticipating are: Mark Hunt vs. Semmy Schilt in K-1, and Fedor vs. Tim Sylvia (Which was confirmed as 100%).
