Well if Broly is much stronger than any of the Zet-Senshi in the movie of course Gohan wouldn't look anything better than the others. They will all got owned in the same way.
Piccolo also doesn't seem weaker than Vegeta or Trunks or even Gohan and of course he is weaker than them.
