Also; though it's not stated, I can't see why the strongest of the Kaioshins would not even try to unleash the Z-sword? That doesn't make sense in my book as well. If countless ones tried, he should've been one of them. That one is just a matter of opinion, but we know if he did, he would be much weaker then SSJ Gohan, thus ending any kind of SSJ3 power comparison to him.

Well, if he was in the SSJ-SSJ2 league Buu wouldn't even absorb him and he would have been killed in an instant
The only reason he could have absorb the Dai Kaioshin was because he had the south one within him. If the Dai Kaioshin had so much influence that it made Buu weaker and much more gentle than I don't see why the influence of the most powerful Kaioshin couldn't have made him less cruel.
No mather what is said, if you lower the power of the South Kaioshin to the power of a SSJ or SSJ2 than that would contradict the fact Buu absorbed him since there would be absolutely no point to do so.
