You also have to consider that Ichigo took Yami as a serious threat when he used Bankai after his Zanpaktou blocked Yami's fist. So Yami is at least around the same range as Shikai Ichigo given he went to Bankai. Shikai Ichigo is stronger than Kenpachi (Eye Patch Removed) who is more than twice as strong as Kenpachi with his eye patch on who is comparable to unreleased Byakuya who is stronger than Bankai Renji...
