There was a reason why i was never fully keen on the original Dragon Ball is because characters like Roshi, Pilaf, Oolong, Chiaotzu, Yajirobe and a few others, oh and to a lower extent Bulma made the show childish and kinda kiddified..

Roshi wasnt funny he was just stupid. As was Oolong they tried to be funny but werent.

Now the reason i love DBZ is because characters like Roshi, Oolong, Yajirobe and other silly characters from DB practically went off the show and it became a more serious show with people like Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo, Frieza and Cell and it became a more action packed adult orientated show.

But now in the Buu Arc its just gone back to being more silly and childish again.

They brought in alot of new characters to make it comical again

Hercule - is not in the slightest bit funny
Fat Buu - is just a joke "Buu turn you into milk" is that meant to be funny?

Goten and Kid Trunks - not really bad characters but made it more kiddified

Babidi - was just unnecessarily stupid

Old Supreme Kai - The guardian of the universe was a pervert, that was just plain wrong we already had Roshi.

The fusion dance was pointless in making it try to be funny when it wasnt.

The whole saiyaman thing was just completely unnecessary.

The world tournament that was fun and interesting in Dragon Ball was very dissapoint in DBZ.

Old Supreme Kai dancing around going "sleepy power wake up now" its like the show went from targeting more grown up audiences to little kids.

But whats worse is that instead of just introducing childish characters, all the best ones are gone.

Vegeta is killed off.

The Trunks people actually liked was replaced by a arrogant kid when adult Trunks was never arrogant.

Piccolo is barely in it and when he is, is made comical by doing the fusion dance.

Another thing about the Buu Arc is that they made Buu so ridiculously powerful that most characters became useless.

Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, 18 even Piccolo could do nothing so had small parts.

The Frieza saga except for the Ginyu squad was very much targeted more for adults than kids,

Its gone from things like

Krillin being tortured
Krillin dieing
Frieza being cut in half

To

"Buu says make sure you brush your teeth"
"Buu turn you into coookie"

What ashame
