Exactly, Rildo powered up, Goku said he didn't expect him to be THAT powerful but he still knoew Rildo could become much stronger. Goku at base was only bashing Rildo in order to force him to release his power so they could have a good fight. Rildo already knew that Goku could become stronger than his base form, he even stated that he knew Goku wasn't using nearly his maximum power. Goku didn't know Rildo could go meta, the only thing important is the fact that Goku knew Rildo needed a SSJ to get beat, not just a base. That's why he turned SSJ right when the sigma force were holding him, it's not like Rildo's power had raised or anything, he was just tired to fool around and that convinced Rildo to get down to buisness too. As I said before, why would Goku be impressed by a being he could beat at base. It was obvious Rildo was hiding something and Goku knew it, it's not like he couldn't read Rildo's power and vice versa.
