Well I don't know, I consider Goku still trying to get to use to Super Saiyan alot better than him just suddenly mastering it. Considering how long it takes for someone to become a super saiyan, aka 1000 years.

By the time Goku got back on Earth, he was able to control his ability to transform into SSj.
