If Rin could easily transport an eye over, a medic can easily repair a damaged eye and put in a false one. Then been interrogated.
We don't know that do we? But it can be a possibility to think about.

Why would he care? Because he wants to become stronger okay? He admitted he is weak, and he did get very fustrated at the end. So perhaps he seeked power, like Sasuke did. So far all the Uchiha's that have had a major role have seeked for power.

And with the eyes you can't actually tell. There just swirly. Mangekyou Sharingan is swirly. We don't know yet.
