A story is nothing without good description. Description goes along with good story-telling, unlike somebody said before. You don't want to read some mundane story where what's being described to you is really obvious--I like it when writers prolong revealing what exactly they're talking about, and it leaves you guessing up until that point.
Then you're like, "Oh, that wasn't a Christmas tree. It was a dead body!"
