Itachi is ANYTHING but boring.

We still haven't seen any of his last-resort major techniques, or any other amazing tricks (besides Utakata, Tsukuyomi, and Amaterasu; Bunshin Bakuha was effing sweet, too, as was Magen: Kyouten Chiten). On top of that...he's an enigma. Why did he kill his own family? How did he discover Mangekyou Sharingan? How is he linked to this mysterious "third user"? What is the Uchiha family secret, and why did Sasuke "get it" when he read that scroll? Why is the Hyuuga clan symbol in that secret room, on the walls with the images of Tengu? JUST HOW EFFING POWERFUL IS ITACHI?!?!?!?!?!

There's so much surrounding Itachi, it's mind-boggling. He is definitely one of, if not the most deep, complex characters in the series. On top of that, he's effing awesome. Single-handedly butchering the strongest clan in Konoha, mastering the Mangekyou Sharingan, raping Orochimaru (a Sannin) at age 13 and scaring him off, being the one person in all of Akatsuki assigned to the FREAKING KYUUBI...

Itachi's so awesome, the name of the series might as well be changed to "Itachi"...
