Now, you can say Sasuke done some impressive escapes too, but he's a main character. OF COURSE HE ISN'T GOING TO DIE. Deidara doesn't have that going for him. He's just. Fucking. Cool.
And, again, he can blow up entire villages with nuke-sized bombs. Sasuke's got NOTHIN' on that.

Are you questioning the Japanese fans on who they think is cooler/popular? Just face it, Sasuke is cooler than Deidara. If you have a problem with that, then take it up with Japanese fans.
True, Sasuke can't blow up entire villages with nuke-sized clay explosives. But, he can defeat 1000+ ninjas myself, kill one of the legendary sannin, scare the hell out of 2 psychopath killers (Suigetsu & Juugo) & disable Deidara's explosive clay with his raiton jutsu. Deidara definitely got NOTHIN' on that.
Oh, and by the way. Sasuke > Deidara > Orochimaru > Sasori. |
The Japanese fans PREFER Sasuke. That just means more of them like him. Deidara's still cooler, if you look at the stuff I pointed out.
As for Sasuke's "achievements"...
1. Those ninjas probably weren't any stronger than Mizuki on average. Kimimaro probably could've done the same thing with only slightly more effort put forth.
2. Orochimaru was in a weakened state, AND he was pulling his punches to try not to kill Sasuke.
3. Suigetsu and Juugo don't seem very strong. Probably Kakashi/Gai-level at best. After all, Juugo had been kept in check by Kimimaro, who we all know is nothing special, and Suigetsu sorta shit himself when he saw Juugo go Cursed Seal.
4. Just an elemental advantage. Hardly an achievement on Sasuke's part.
Deidara has plenty on that:
1. He infiltrated Suna ALONE, defeated/captured their Kazekage (Gaara, who was, *gasp*, a main character) with a genius strategy, despite the latter having a few major advantages.
2. Has survived numerous close-calls, as I stated previously.
3. CAN FREAKING NUKE VILLAGES.
4. Can create microscopic bombs that do damage on a cellular level.
5. HAS DEVELOPED HIS LEFT EYE TO COUNTER SHARINGAN GENJUTSU, a thing that's been unheard of in all of the Naruto series. For anyone else, looking a Sharingan user in the eyes means death. Deidara's the only non-Uchiha who can tackle the Sharingan's illusionary powers and fend them off.
Face it, Deidara is WAY cooler.
Oh, "and by the way", Sasori>Deidara=Sasuke>Orochimaru, as I JUST PROVED. That's right. PROVED. Unless you can prove me wrong, eat it. Eat it and like it. |
Since "Naruto" is an manga for teenagers, "popular" & "cool" are use in their slang terms. Therefore, popular=cool, which means Sasuke is cooler than Deidara. Nuff said about that.
Now about who's stronger between Deidara & Sasori. You have to consider these 2 things when Deidara made his statement about who's stronger between him & Sasori.
1) Deidara ran out of explosives since he was unprepared.
2) Deidara had to endure the pain of his left arm that was torn by Gaara without any medical treatment for 3 days & 3 nights while concentrating his chakra on sealing the Shukaku.
When Deidara stated that Sasori was stronger than him, he really meant that Sasori was stronger than him at the moment. Remember, Sasori wasn't greatly injure or unprepared before Deidara made his statement. Now if you add the 6 months that leads into the "Current arc", Deidara would be far stronger than Sasori now because of recent development of "the new gen surpassing the old gen". Therefore, Deidara is stronger one between the 2 of them.

The "slang" doesn't apply to the term "popular vote", in a "popularity poll". That just means more people like him. And, again, considering the difference isn't massive, and considering I'm always right (=/), Sasuke being more popular doesn't mean jack-squat. It just means there's more Narutard Sasuke fanboys like you out there than there are people like me, who see geniune "artistic" quality. Bow to my awesome judgment.
Okay, that's just ridiculous. Deidara said "Sasori no Dana is stronger than me", not "I'm weaker than Sasori no Dana at the moment". Sasori was stronger than Deidara. Period. And he still is. Period. Even with C4, Sandaime Kazekage would probably be enough to kill Deidara. After all, Sasori can fly too, so Deidara doesn't have that advantage. Sasori can also switch bodies, and I'd bet that at least ONE of his puppets has a Raiton affinity. And, knowing Sasori, he'd probably have Deidara's bombs figured out and pull off a Sasuke bomb-defusion. And come on, Deidara could barely avoid Gaara's sand. There's no way he'd be able to dodge the Satetsu, let alone the rest of Sasori's arsenal if Sasori gets serious and pulls out everything at once. And...yeah, Sasori's faster. And then there's the poison. Always with the poison. So don't bullshit me with C4. It's basically the same damned thing as poison, but Sasori's faster, stronger, and has a lot more crap to throw out than Deidara. Deidara may have improved, but he's still far from being better than his old "Master". Which, by the way, is something else: HE CALLED SASORI "MASTER" ("Sasori no Dana"). He deferred to Sasori as the superior shinobi, and it was Sasori who was constantly lashing out at HIM when angry, not the other way around.
And don't give me this "new gen-old gen" bullshit either. That's not an absolute rule. Tsunade can still beat the hell out of Sakura anyday, Kakashi isn't quite as good as his dad (who was stated to be on par with the Sannin), Yamato is no Shodaime, and I really don't have the time to go through the damn list. Point is, it's about skill, not age.
Sasori>Deidara=Sasuke>Orochimaru
