"Popular" and "cool" aren't...exactly the same thing. More people can agree on something than on something else, but that's just...how do you say?..."popular". Now, Deidara's 3rd in that poll, only a stone's throw from Sasuke. So it's not like Sasuke is more popular by a landslide. But as far as coolness goes...what has Sasuke shown? A few Chidori tricks? Deidara's skills are geniunely awesome. I mean, for Christ's sake, he strategies and Houdini escapes are as good as or better than Sasuke's. Blows himself up in a suicidal attempt to kill Team Gai and Team Kakashi. Dead? No. It was a clone, and he hid underground. Pinned to C2 Dragon with shuriken as it crashes and detonates. Dead? No. Escapes by pulling the shuriken out with his feet. Chidori'd through the chest. Dead? No. Another clone, while Deidara pops out of his clay bird from below and engulfs Sasuke in C4. He pulls off this shit that any other bad guy would probably end up falling victim to in an embarrassing Kakuzu-esque way. Now, you can say Sasuke done some impressive escapes too, but he's a main character. OF COURSE HE ISN'T GOING TO DIE. Deidara doesn't have that going for him. He's just. Fucking. Cool.

And, again, he can blow up entire villages with nuke-sized bombs. Sasuke's got NOTHIN' on that.
