Default Re: The 3 Legendary Fools (Must Be Awesome To Enter)

Well im a bit shattered.. and two days in a row now I have come home, soaked to the skin and knee deep in mud... niiiice.

On saturday, me and a friend of mine who came down from London to say good bye to me, went for a bike ride, like we sometimes do. We missioned it for about two miles to a pub (there were hills to get up so we were in pieces by the time we got there) and sat outside. I had a nice cold pint of beer, and we shared a plate of chips. The sun was beating down.. it was nice. However, there were LOTS of thunder bugs around, and the air was really humid. I said there would probably be a storm later, and we joked about getting caught in it. So we sat and finished our pint, and moved on. We cycled down to the harbour and along towards a forest. Then we heard a rumble.

The heavens opened and, thunder and lightning were the new order of the day. The rain started hammering down. So we were stuck.. in a storm.. on metal bikes.. in an area surrounded by tall trees... hmm.. probably not the best place to be when lightning is lighting up the skies every few seconds. So we got a bit of shelter till the worst was over.. but we still got drenched. The we tried to caryr on. Now the route we so cleverly took... took us across a small area of marsh land at the edge of the water... lots of silt and sinking mud... try draging a bike across that in those conditions. My friend fell over at one point and cut her knee.. but she was fine with it as she thought it made her look more hardcore. Eventually we managed to work our way back to civilisation and cycle the few miles to the village, only to find my local haunt (the Shore Pub) had stopped doing lunch. So.. we went into the village, still soaked, despite the fact that the storm had stopped, and sat in a bakery / cafe and had a coffee and a slice of cake... we got some odd looks. Then it was off to work two hours later... so that ws tiring.

Then, YESTERDAY.. I went to the Festival of Speed at Goodwood. It was so great!! Saw some crazy ass cars. There was one Japanese Prototype, and the seats inside were in a bubble and it spun around... it was so cool! And we sat in a £306,000 rolls royce (or however u spell it) Saw some badass cars with insanely loud revs.. and ive never seen a car do a wheely before, but it had some bitching hydrolics! Some of the cars, when they were being warmed up for their races, revved so loudly I thought my ears were going to explode >_L So awesome.. saw Schumaker's F1 car.. The Red Arrows did a show, and I got some awesome snaps of them in flight (<3 my new camera) AND.. the highlight of my day was Lewis Hamilton.. Seeing him race.. and walk past us about 2 meters away.. My god that man IS perfection... *died* I was planning on kidnapping him.. but i didn't get the chance.. even his CAR was hot!! BUT it rained.. and it was at goodwood.. and the mud was SO thick and everywhere, that it was flicked, splashed and smeared almost to my damn knees... niiice.

So im shattered... it didn't help that saturday night me and my friend came home with bottles of wine and weed and sat watching Black Books till late at night (had to get up at 6am saturday morning)

So yeah... ^^
