Re: Japanese Dragonball DVDs 4-6
The only way I know of is to actually put a Region 2 DVD in and see if it plays. But assuming that you purchased your player in the US, and you've successfully played US DVDs on it before, it's very likely Region 2 DVDs will not play.
If you look around on the internet, most DVD players actually have a code you can punch in on the remote that will disable regions. I have a Yamaha and did this, and now everything I've tried works great.
You live in the United States so you're defintely going to have NTSC.
If you can't get the DVDs to work on your current DVD player, sites like Play-asia.com usually sell region free ones. Region free means that all regions will work on it. Region 1 is the US.
Another possibility is to use your computer. Either rip the DVD using a program like DVD Decrypter (which in this case a region won't matter), or switch the region on your computer and play it right off the DVD.
Computers allow users to change between regions like 5 times.
If you have a Playstation 2, there might be something you can do to get it working there. I don't much about that though.
