1. I went and checked both volumes 21 and 22 resectively to see if your claim is valid. It turned out that its not, Gohan's hairstyle is not at all different during his fight with Dabura (compared to the 25th tenkaichi budokai) I am not saying that hair isn;t generally and indication for SSJ2 but what I am saying is that for Teen Gohan it isn't because of how his hair is. The only counter argument you could have is that Gohan was a SSJ2 vs Dabura but if that is your argument than anticipate it be put to shame by my "counter" counter argument to that.
2. Well for one, Broly was defeated by the combined power of the fighters that were quite weakened. In fact in my opinion they were probably more that half as weak but judging by how badly Goku destroyed Broly after recieving their energy I think its fair to say that Broly was 2-2.5 folds stronger than Goku so its not nearly as much as you presume Broly's advantage to be. But also If MSSJ Gohan stands at 4,800,000,000
and Piccolo (post rosat) is around 1,700,000,000, then Gohan would have a 2.8 fold power advantage over Piccolo and well in no way is Broly's power advantage enough to make it seem as if Gohan and Piccolo were on the same plain field. Had Broly been 10 folds stronger than Gohan and Goku then I'd agree with your sentiment.
