Radiation is actually minute alpha, beta and gamma particles that go through the gaps between your own molecules. As such, doesn't matter how durable the molecules that compose your body are, you're still going to get affected. And no, force has nothing to do with it, which is why it's just as dangerous to be in a faulty nuclear reactor as to get caught by the radiation wave of a nuke. The reactor may not explode, but the radiation rolling out of its core will kill you dead.
