There are many reasons as to why I think Gogeta is stronger than Vegito.
1. It was never mentioned in the series that the Potarra Earrings were better than the Fusion Dance.
2. Vegito required his Super form to beat Super Buu (Gohan absorbed). If you look at Super Buu's (Gohan absorbed) power level and Goku Super Saiyan 4's power level you'll see what I mean.
3. The Potarra Earrings can't fuse the two wearers if they were Super Saiyan or higher.
4. Super Gogeta has beaten Super Janemba (2nd strongest villain in the entire Dragon Ball, Z, GT universe)
5. Gogeta SSJ4 has beaten Omega Shenron (strongest villain in the Dragon Ball, Z, GT universe)

You see, the Potarra fusion doesn't have any Super Saiyan transformation. Only the Fusion Dance does. Despite Gogeta's 30 minute dead line, that is all the time he needs to finish off Vegito. Vegito's highest fusion is Super Vegito and Gogeta's is Gogeta Super Saiyan 4. Super Vegeto's power level isn't even a fraction of Gogeta Super Saiyan 4's power level!
